Как быть с тем хаосом и скопищем бредовых идей и установок, которые мы успешно накопили за всю свою жизнь? Мы, может быть, и попытались бы докопаться до истины, но как преодолеть внутренний разлад и смятение, если нет возможности даже на секунду прекратить внутренний диалог с собственным сознанием?<br />
А может, наш ум уже чистый и ясный? Давайте договоримся о терминах: здесь не имеется в виду мощь интеллекта, здесь идет речь о спокойствии и миролюбии ума. Мы все чего-то страстно желаем и страдаем, пока не получим. Потом страдаем, пытаясь удержать имеющееся. Потом страдаем, потеряв то, что так страстно желали, получили, а удержать не удалось. И так до бесконечности, без малейшего продыха. Так вот, чистый ум — это ум, который перестал быть захватчиком и начал, голубчик, радоваться тому, что есть. Медитируя же, мы шаг за шагом успокаиваем и прочищаем алчущее сознание, позволяя ему увидеть истинную цену вещей. Лама Еше говорил: «Надо уметь меняться, догонять и терять. Если я готов признать, что могу потерять все, что имею, то мои приобретения и победы становятся сразу менее значимыми, как, впрочем, и возможные потери и поражения».<br />
В том интервью, опубликованном в январском номере, мы подробно описывали свое житье-бытье на Святом острове в Шотландии, где мы под руководством ламы Еше проходили ретрит (духовные практики в уединении от мира). Наш день начинался в пять утра и состоял преимущественно из молитв и физической работы, и медитация была ежеутренней часовой процедурой. Без этого мы бы не выдержали. Нам было очень тяжело там, на острове, но не из-за усталости, а оттого, что раскрывалась душа и чистился ум. Процесс же этот болезненный и непростой. Там, на острове мы часто срывались, орали друг на друга, и нам казалось, что это возможность «разрядиться». Но это были мнимые разрядки, потому что они не могли в действительности успокоить наше сознание.<br />
И только молитвы и медитация могли привести нас в порядок. Мы медитировали каждое утро с восьми до девяти. Вместе с ламой и монахами. Они помогали нам как могли. Монахи разъясняли тексты, а по вечерам, сменив монашеские робы на шортики, резались с народом в футболяночку. В общем, дружили. Лама же объяснял, почему мы мучаемся и как перестать это делать. Он говорил: «Человека захлестывают эмоции — ревность, зависть, корысть. Мы много страдаем. Страдаем морально, а значит, теряем ясность и мудрость. В результате люди допускают много ошибок. Чаще всего потом уже, по зрелом размышлении мы готовы это признать сами, но в нужный момент как нам не хватало верных решений и точных слов!»<br />
Но они появляются, только когда в сознании царит мир. И тогда есть шанс разобраться со всеми проблемами. Но спокойно. Лучше сосредоточиться на ситуации, чтобы понять, кто же виноват. Они или я? Если ты считаешь, что они, то как им удалось поставить тебя перед этой | проблемой? Шаг за шагом, как будто разгребая накопившийся мусор, ты докапываешься до истины.</p>

«Я думаю, что, если учиться медитировать, гораздо правильнее использовать не отвлеченные техники. <p>Это так называемая буддистская медитация внимания. Занимающийся ею человек полностью захвачен каждым своим действием. Что ты ни делаешь — ешь, пьешь, стоишь, сидишь, молчишь, говоришь, — всегда нужно сознательно наблюдать за своими действиями. Таким образом формируется сознание, относящееся к реальности, и все вопросы прошлого и будущего решаются с позиций настоящего времени. Можно сказать, что таким путем достигается беспрерывность медитации. Надо все время стараться менять себя, и менять к лучшему.<br />
Например, обитатели монастыря Самье Линг медитируют, когда готовят еду, когда работают. Они могут медитировать где угодно. Это довольно-таки трудно, но здесь у всех уже выработалась привычка. Самое главное — принять решение, подчиниться внутренней дисциплине, создать правильную ситуацию, и, когда удастся добиться определенной внутренней стабильности и духовных навыков, тогда уже можно стремиться к большему.  Существует так называемая концен-<br />
трирующая медитация, когда внимание фиксируется на монотонных звуках, дыхании, биении сердца, словах, молитвах<br />
. Например в практике дзэн-буддизма известно упражнение, при котором надо считать вдохи и выдохи.Это занятие, с одной стороны, блокирует мозг от посторонних мыслей, а с другой — не является слишком труд-ным, чтобы препятствовать физическому и духовному успокоению.<br />
Да, и еще об одной вещи предупреждал лама. Во время медитации можно испытывать разные состояния, порою весьма необычные и увлекательные — наиболее чувствительные, например, летают. Эти состояния бывают настолько захватывающими, что могут превратиться в самоцель, и человек станет медитировать лишь из желания вновь и вновь повторить кайф. Так вот. Если вы помедитировали, полетали, но все еще продолжаете орать на домашних или злитесь, что кто-то не дается вам в руки, знайте, до истины вам еще далеко и предстоит много работы. В настоящее время только на русском и английском языке издано более 4000 книг по медитации. Не все они равноценны, есть бесполезная (а порой и вредная) макулатура. Как ни рассматривать медитацию &#8211; как метод психической терапии, или как религиозный обряд, или как метод духовного самосовершенствова- I ния, &#8211; на первых порах желательна помощь. Мы посоветовались со специалистами из центра «Путь к себе», и они, понятное дело, порекомендовали обратиться в их магазин (тоже «Путь к себе»). Там в избытке литературы о медитации, музыке и благовониях, используемых во время процесса.</p>
